When I Can’t Yet See
54 “How, then, would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way?” Matthew 26:54
Peter saw the soldiers coming and pulled out a sword. Jesus looked at the same moment and saw something else entirely. The Father’s plan was moving forward.
The disciples thought everything was falling apart. Jesus knew the cross wasn’t a mistake or a detour. It was the path the Scriptures had already marked out.
I forget that faster than I want to admit. The second a situation gets tight, fear starts talking louder than anything else and I jump in and try to fix something God never asked me to carry.
I keep thinking faith means the story will make sense while I’m still in the middle of it. It doesn’t. Faith means trusting that God is still doing what He said He would do, even when the pieces refuse to line up yet.
Lord, when I don’t understand the path You’re taking me on, help me trust Your character more than the limited view I have right now. Teach me to believe You’re faithful to Your Word even when I can’t yet see where it leads.
