Only Jesus
8 When they looked up they saw no one except Jesus alone. Matthew 17:8
Right after the glory of the Transfiguration, after Moses and Elijah appeared, and after the Father’s voice spoke from heaven, the disciples looked up. And what did they see? No prophets. No bright cloud. Just Jesus. Only Jesus.
I know how easily my attention can drift. Responsibilities pull me one way, worries another, and even good things can quietly crowd in until Jesus is no longer the center of my focus.
But this moment on the mountain serves as a powerful reminder. Everything else eventually fades. The voices, the lights, the distractions, they all pass. Jesus remains.
When I fix my gaze on Him, the fears lose their grip. My priorities straighten out. And my heart finally finds peace.
Lord, help me lift my eyes and see You above it all. When the noise gets loud and my attention scatters, pull me back. Be enough for me. You are enough for me. Today.
