When Someone Else Gets Blessed

15 “Don’t I have the right to do what I want with what is mine? Are you jealous because I’m generous?” Matthew 20:15

Those workers who had sweated in the field from sunrise weren’t mad because the landowner cheated them. They got exactly what they signed up for. What really burned them was watching him show kindness to the men who showed up late.

I’m guilty. I’m good with what God has given me until I see Him drop the same kind of gift in someone else’s lap. Ouch.

Suddenly everything He has done for me feels smaller. I see what they got and lose sight of what’s right in front of me.

Here’s what freed me this morning: God’s goodness to them is not proof He passed me by.

Lord, help me when I start comparing. Help me celebrate every time You are generous to someone else, and keep my heart grateful for what You’ve already given me.
