Don’t Forget What God Has Done

8 Aware of this, Jesus said, “You of little faith, why are you discussing among yourselves that you do not have bread?” Matthew 16:8

The disciples were freaking out over bread, even though they had watched Jesus feed thousands with leftovers to spare, not once but twice. It is easy to shake my head at them, until I realized I am guilty of the exact same thing.

God has come through for me in so many ways. He has provided when I had no plan, guided me when I was lost, and answered prayers I did not even know how to pray. Yet the moment a new problem shows up, I start acting like His track record suddenly does not count.

Jesus was not just scolding their fear. He was exposing their forgetfulness. They had seen His power up close, but they were not letting yesterday’s miracle shape today’s trust. Read that again.

I do not need another reminder that God can do it. I just need to remember that He already has, again and again.

Lord, forgive me for forgetting so quickly. I give You praise for Your kindness to me. Help me hold onto what You have already done, trust You with what is in front of me today, and move forward in confidence of who You are.
