God Won’t Fit

29 Jesus answered them, “You are mistaken, because you don’t know the Scriptures or the power of God.” Matthew‬ ‭22‬:‭29‬

The Sadducees knew enough to argue, but not enough to bow. I do the same when I come to Scripture only looking for what I can explain, control, or squeeze into my own thinking.

I don’t want a God who fits inside my understanding. I want the God Scripture shows me, even when He stretches me and refuses to stay small.

Lord, forgive me for trusting my understanding too much. Make me humble before Your Word, and teach me to trust Your power.
